Henry

The Gift of Time for Henry

Henry was adopted when he was three months old and stepped into his pet parent’s life exactly when she needed it. For 14 years, Henry has been more than just a dog to his pet mom. She shared, “Henry has been my everything. He has been my constant companion, my comfort, and my source of unconditional love. He has always been by my side, helping me through anxiety and depression in ways I can’t fully put into words. His love has been steady, pure, and life-changing.”

Sadly, Henry was diagnosed with rectal cancer last summer. After a major surgery and months of oncology care, the tumors returned, causing him pain and distress that medication could no longer reach. After numerous expenses to fight for him this past year, his pet parent exhausted her savings. As a single-income household, the financial weight of his final care was a hurdle she could not cross alone.

Through Angel’s Watch, a non-profit fully funded by the generosity of pet parents who have received loving end-of-life services, the financial burden could be eased to ensure Henry’s final moments were peaceful and free from the pain he was enduring. His pet mom was able to reach out to to Angel’s Paws, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life services for pets and much-needed support to pet families in the comfort of their home. His heartbroken mom shared, “Henry has given me a lifetime of love—I just want to be able to give that back to him now.”

Thanks to the generous donors of Angel’s Watch and the loving services of Angel’s Paws, Henry received the most precious gift - the gift of time for his mom to focus on his care, provide a dignified farewell, and return the unconditional love he shared with her for 14 years.
